IMPSA completed the erection of the wind generator I-83 of 2.1 MW, the largest state-of-the-art wind generator manufactured in the country

On January 13th, 2010, IMPSA completed the erection of the first wind generator at the Arauco Wind Farm, located in the area known as “Puerta de Arauco”, around 20 kilometers to the south of the city of Aimogasta, in the Province of La Rioja, Argentina.

Tee wind generator was completely designed and manufactured in IMPSA’s production center located in Mendoza, including blades, mast, generator, frequency converter and electronic controls.

It is a technological work that has never been neither seen nor produced in the country. 200 people were employed during its manufacturing. Different tests shall be carried out on the equipment within the next few weeks in order to proceed with its final start-up.

The Project in La Rioja involves turnkey supply, operation and maintenance of the Arauco Wind Farm, which has a basic installed capacity of 25.2 MW. This work, which consists of 12 wind generators I-83 of 2.1 MW, has been entirely funded by the Province of La Rioja with an investment of 230 million pesos approximately.
