The power station will increase its capacity by 50 MW (7%) and extend its service life for 30 years.

Mr. Gustavo Lopetegui, Secretary of Energy of the Nation, Mr. Julián Gadano (Assistant Secretary of Nuclear Energy and President of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina (NA-SA), Mr. Omar Semmoloni, Director of the project designed to extend Embalse Nuclear Power Station service life), and IMPSA’s authorities were part of the function to celebrate the upgrading of the station that will supply energy to over 3M people in Cordoba.

Manufacturing steam generators was a milestone for the national industrial since all the equipment was manufactured at the nuclear plant owned by IMPSA, the only Latin American company holding ASME N certification for the design and manufacturing of Class 1 nuclear components.

One-hundred professionals and 20 Argentinean small and medium-sized companies were involved in the project.
