The successful startup of Generating Unit No. 4 at the Yacyretá Hydroelectric Power Plant has been carried out following a comprehensive rehabilitation.
This is the third of six units that IMPSA is upgrading for the Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY), which will supply energy to 100,000 homes.
This is the first time since the power plant’s commissioning that a generating unit has undergone a complete overhaul, including unit disassembly, generator modernization, and supply of a new Kaplan turbine.
This milestone extends the unit’s useful life by 30 more years and contributes 155 MW of renewable power to the power grid.
