Within the framework of the 56th General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), hold in Panama, our President, Jorge Salcedo, took part in a meeting organized by the Atlantic Council in collaboration with USA House, which brought together senior officials and key regional stakeholders. Among them were Pablo Quirno, Argentina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs; Kevin Cabrera, U.S. Ambassador to Panama; and Ana Irene Delgado, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Panama to the OAS.
The event convened government leaders, private sector representatives, and members of civil society to exchange perspectives on the future of the Americas and the region’s main challenges.
Jorge participated in the panel “Nuclear Energy in Latin America,” alongside Douglas Smith, Global Head of Public Affairs at The Nuclear Company, and Katayoun Khosrowyar, Associate Director at the American Chemistry Council. The discussion focused on the potential of nuclear energy as a strategic alternative for energy security, decarbonization, and industrial development across the continent.
