Mendoza, December 17th, 2019. With the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of India in Argentina, Dinesh Bhatia; the First Secretary of the Embassy of India, Maitrey Kulkarni; the Minister of Government, Labor and Justice of the Province of Mendoza, Víctor Ibáñez Rosaz; the Director of ProMendoza, Mario Lázzaro; the CEO of IMPSA, Juan Carlos Fernández and representatives of the business and academic sectors, was held today at the Park Haytt Hotel, “India-Argentina: Business Opportunities”. The purpose of the meeting was to spread the potential of India as a pole of technological developments and business opportunities for Argentine companies.

The Ambassador of the Republic of India in Argentina, Dinesh Bhatia, presented data on different aspects of his country and provided business examples between the two countries that could contribute to the international expansion of Argentina. He also mentioned the different areas of the industry in which it is possible to explore together: Technology, Energy, Agriculture, Nuclear and Automotive, among others.

The representatives of the companies were able to share their commercial experiences in India and the challenges that arise in such a large market and with significant potential in technological developments.

The CEO of IMPSA -Eng. Juan Carlos Fernández- expressed: “From IMPSA, with a 30-year presence in India, we see business opportunities in technological development in engineering and manufacturing in the hydroelectric, nuclear, Oil & Gas sectors and in Artificial Intelligence. We are establishing alliances with companies in India, since having a local partner for the projects is key”.

Juan Carlos Cacciavillani, Director of Technology of IMPSA, participated in the dialogue panel where he explained the experience of IMPSA in India with the Pykara hydroelectric project, which generated more than 30 thousand hours of work in Mendoza and whose supply can provide electricity to more of a million people.
